>> 2008 Quiltopia Winners  <<    Last year's Quiltopia event was held October 2-5, 2008. Pictures and results below...

Quiltopia is over for another year but the fun still goes on. We drew the winning names from all those who completed the tour and had their passports stamped.

2008 Quilted Cottage Tour winners:

The winner of the Janome Jem Platinum 760 sewing machine donated by Whitlock's Sew and Vac is Mary MacDonald of northern Seattle.

The winner of the $100.00 gift certificate is Sarah Culbertson (pictured at left), from Salem. Doesn't she look ready to quilt?

...by American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine and featured in the March 2007 Quilt Sampler Issue!

Home of the Brave Quilt Project -- State of Oregon

This is a nationwide project whose mission is to provide a replica of a US Sanitary Commission Civil War quilt to the mothers, or other family members, of every soldier lost in the war in Iraq or Afghanistan. The pattern for Oregon is a very simple Album Cross "X", and measures 48" x 84" the same size as the Civil War Soldiers bedrolls, as well as the cots used in field hospitals. Quilters made more than 250,000 quilts for soldiers leaving for the battlefield and only five of these quilts are known to have survived. Sometimes the quilts were auctioned to raise funds for the U.S. Sanitatary Commission which later became known as the American Red Cross. For information on participating see our shop display or go to www.oregonhomeofthebrave.org

The Quilted Forest carries 100% cotton fabric from Kaffe Fasset, April Cornell, Deb Strain, Bonnie Sullivan, Michael Miller, Moda, P&B, RJR, Timeless Treasures, Benertex, Hoffman, Free Spirit, Maywood, Andover, Alexander Henry and more. Our batiks are high quality and color saturated. We also have a wonderful selection of notions, rulers, cutting mats, books, quilting supplies, batting and interfacing.
